Responsibilities

Spring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 364-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, women's health, comprehensive maternity services, a level III neonatal intensive care unit, and specialty programs in stroke, chest pain, advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine with a limb salvage program

Job Description:

Responsible for the delivery of respiratory therapy modalities and respiratory assessments to patients of all ages in all patient care areas, including critical care, NICU or Labor & Delivery. Performs responsibilities independently and without supervision except as necessary during orientation or Training

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of a Co-ARC approved Respiratory Technician/Therapist program. Minimum: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certified by the NBRC, and Additional credential(s) required: Must possess either Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) and/or Advance Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certified by the NBRC.

Experience:

At least 3 years Adult critical care experience/Level III neonatal experience

Technical Skills:

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department and provide the care/service as described in the department policies and procedures.

License/Certifications:

Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), and must possess either the Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential and/or the Advanced Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) credential from the NBRC. State of Nevada Practitioner of Respiratory Care License, General Supervisor Blood Gas License*, Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified by the American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certified from American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Other:

Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service to the age of the

patients served on the assigned unit/department.

Note:

*Note: For new blood gas license personnel applicants - you must apply within the first 14 days

of hire. ** Additional certifications may be required for certain facilities

Compensation Range:

$35.16 - $46.59 / hour
