The Pilot-In-Command is responsible for safe and effective aircraft operations using established methods and procedures and in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer's recommendations.

Sign On Bonus- 10K paid in 2 payments

  • 5K after 90 days of service
  • 5K after 1 year of service

Retention Bonus-$10K paid over 26 pay periods. This is a staffing incentive based on pilot shortage. We anticipate this will be an ongoing incentive.

Location Incentive- $10K paid over 12 monthly payments. Must live within 1 hour of your assigned base.

Shift:

  • 14 on 14 off

Classic Air Medical is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Rotor Wing Captain. Successful candidates must be able to operate the company helicopters safely, in all weather conditions, in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies and procedures, with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with the Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, Crews and Flight Coordination department.This position requires the applicant to possess excellent professional flying skills with emphasis on:

  • Performance of essential job responsibilities in a static or moving aircraft with the potential to do so in an outdoor environment (inclement weather, temperature extremes, steep terrain, back country, etc.),
  • Exposure to noise and vibration of an aircraft,Unpressurized helicopter flight at altitudes which may exceed 12,000 feet mean sea level (MSL),
  • Exposure to patients with known or unknown infectious disease in an enclosed space.
  • This position offers an equal time on and time off schedule, with company provided crew housing while on shift. Competitive compensation, with group health, dental, and vision benefits available.

Minimum Requirements:

Rotor Wing Pilot in Command:

  • Must hold a current Commercial Pilot (Rotorcraft-Helicopter) with an Instrument Rating or ATP (Rotorcraft-Helicopter) certificate, current class II medical certificate, 2,000 PIC flight hours in helicopters which consists of: 1,000 Turbine, 500 flight hours cross country, and 100 hours at night.
  • Must pass a part 135.293 check ride upon completion of INDOC training,
  • All candidates are required to participate in
  • (A) pre-employment drug and alcohol testing in compliance with federal regulations of DOT, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); AND
  • (B) Intermountain's drug and alcohol testing. Candidates will be provided required testing documents and will be informed in regard to the substances for which they will be tested,
  • The ability to legally work in the United States,
  • The ability to pass criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Rotor Wing Pilot in Command:

  • Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Qualification,
  • Mountain flying experience above 8,500 feet,
  • EMS Experience,
  • 200 flight hours at night,
  • 75 hours of actual or simulated time,
  • Bell 407 flight time

  • Weight in flight uniform must be less than 215 lbs.,
  • Walk 2-miles in 30 min or less
  • Lift 75 lbs. to your waist.
  • Climb 3 flights of stairs with 50 lb. backpack.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
