The Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) is currently seeking talented candidates for a Test Technician at our Silver Springs, NV location. At NATC, a Test Technician supports a team of engineers intent on designing, manufacturing, and testing innovative automotive mobility solutions.

Founded in 1957, the Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) is a privately owned, independent test, evaluation, design and engineering facility offering development and certification testing to customers worldwide. We have substantial international experience, which allows us to evaluate products intended for global markets knowledgeably and objectively. NATC has compiled an extensive database of worldwide operational and infrastructure conditions allowing accurate definition of user duty cycles and creation of test programs that are representative of service environments around the world. NATC is a leading innovator in translating real-world conditions into validated virtual proving ground simulation and virtual prototyping.

NATC's location in the great basin of Nevada allows our team to access terrain that can represent 85% of the world within a 150 mile radius, providing an excellent test bed for off-road mobility. NATC's operational area includes 1200 sq. miles of natural terrain, that when coupled with 6,200 acres of privately owned test courses, create an unparalleled testing area available to our engineers to innovate and solve our customer's problems.

Position Summary:

Works under the direct supervision of the Project/Test Engineer and/or Program Manager. Assists and supports in the planning and conduct of tests, test vehicle operation, maintenance of test records and preparation of final reports. Often operates test and support vehicles. Supports failure analysis of mechanical and/or electrical vehicle subsystems. Responsible for documentation of test procedures followed and findings and generation of report.

Essential Functions:

  1. Support test conduct and data collection
  2. Test vehicle operation
  3. Inputs data on computer using spreadsheets, word processing and database software.
  4. Processes and maintains files of driver's logs, test finding reports and project correspondence.
  5. Perform basic test results review and present to the test engineer
  6. Support data analysis and report generation.
  7. Assists in instrumentation installation and preparation of the vehicle for testing.
  8. Assists Project Engineers or Program Managers in planning, staffing and documenting results of vehicle tests.

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent, with at least two years related experience or associate degree diploma in a technical field.
  2. Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with varied work shifts.
  3. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License.
  4. Must be able to use MS Office tools.
  5. Must possess basic data base entry and report creation and generation skills.
  6. Must possess good skills in reading comprehension to follow written instructions and procedures effectively.
  7. Must possess written and verbal communication skills, expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to thoughts and ideas of others.
  8. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  9. Must have good organization and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Off-road driving experience
  2. Equipment operation experience
  3. Associates Degree in a related field.
  4. Excellent analytical and reasoning skills

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
