Responsibilities and Duties

• Assists in the preparation of accurate, competitive construction bids by utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
• Directly contributes to the success of the company by working with the Estimating Team and Management toto build and sustain relationships with clients.
• Works closely with the department to maintain estimating data, establish and maintain standardized estimating practices, and foster a solid team approach within the department.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction or engineering related discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of related field trade experience/training/education)
• Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years of significant sheetmetal construction estimating experience (non-residential), including for large projects, while employed by a sheetmetalcontractor is required.General contractors or roles coordinating with sheetmetal subcontractors do not meet this requirement.
• Experience with computerized estimating programs required.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to comprehend applicable construction documents.
• Work well in team atmosphere.
• Computer Skills:Must have accurate typing skills and be proficient in usingdatabase, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications,and be willing to learn new software applications.
• Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle. Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles. Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
