The Communications Specialist supports the internal communications strategy by creating team member communications that inspire and connect everyone to the company goals and contributes to the Great Place to Work culture.


Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.

  • Works with internal departments to execute communication plans and deliver key messages to diverse internal audiences through various formats and channels.

  • Writes engaging employee stories for publication, researching, writing and editing articles, and creating images that reinforce our workplace culture.

  • Contributes to the management of the editorial calendar to ensure content is published consistently and that daily distribution capacity is managed to best engage audiences.

  • Partners with Team Member Engagement Specialists on the development of communications and materials supporting events and occasions.

  • Takes a visual-first approach to email communications, designing flyers and other materials to capture the attention of audiences.

  • Updates the company intranet as needed, including daily posting and acting as site administrator for relevant partner departments.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and act on information promptly and effectively.

  • Self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time.

  • Positive, professional, determined, calm and focused when faced with challenging situations.

  • Open and receptive to feedback aimed at continuous improvements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Marketing or Communications role.

  • Experience executing communication strategies.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional.

  • Experience using Canva or equivalent.

  • Ability to travel to meet business needs.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience using AP Style format.

  • Internet/intranet publishing experience using professional CMS platforms

Targeted Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan.

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
