THE STARTING PAY: $23.50/hour
THE JOB:
It is the primary responsibility of the Event Setup Specialist to provide specialized oversight of installation and tear down of events and ensure that events are completed on time, in budget and meet company standards.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Ensure that decor is installed and struck to meet corporate and client expectations, venue is left in Show Ready condition, and goods are handled to protect against damage
Develop clear knowledge of hotels/venues, dock/security procedures and ballroom specs
Assign projects and lead crews on-site; maximize talents and adhere to company and safety policies and procedures
Anticipate and solve on-site technical, creative and timeline issues in conjunction with management to meet deadlines
Operate company trucks, vans and lifts, notify management of gas and maintenance needs
Monitor handling and condition of tools/inventory/equipment/vehicles; document and report loss and damages
Communicate project status and timelines with internal departments, clients and vendors to maintain satisfaction
Stay current in design trends, technology, props/design elements, vendor products and share with/train teams to inspire creativity
Actively promote MREP within the company and the events industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledgeable of basic rigging, furniture movement, packing, crating, and orchestrating deliveries
Knowledgeable of prop/decor assembly and disassembly and production techniques
Knowledgeable of operating hand and power tools and equipment
Able to drive vans, 24' box trucks, stake bed trucks, and operate forklift, scissors lift, and cherry pickers
Able to lift items, push and pull carts, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Office as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone and computer.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Has a valid Nevada Driver's License.
Has a high school diploma or GED.
Has a minimum of two (2) years of experience in events or hospitality industry, or a related field.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT:
Experience in set design, theatre, logistics or event production.
Experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Scissor lift and/or forklift certification.
